DEVELOPING COUNTRIES PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM ON SCHOLARSHIP

I. General Information

The Developing Countries Partnership Program on Scholarship or Beasiswa KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) is provided for the Master Degree Program at one of 12 prominent Universities in Indonesia for 3 years period.

Since 2002, the program has been offered to the Master Degree candidates from the developing countries all around the world. In fact, this program has been attracting more applicants. By 2009, there would be 476 students from 42 countries had been awarded the scholarship.

The program objectives are:

  1. Promote a deeper cultural understanding among developing countries
  2. Strengthen the relationship and to initiate the mutual cooperation among developing countries
  3. Actively contribute to the development of human resource quality

II. Program Structure

  1. All academic programs (lectures and thesis) will be conducted in Indonesian Language.
  2. Period of Study:
  • 8 months of Indonesian Language Program
  • 4 months of Preparatory Program
  • 24 months (4 semesters) of Master Programs
  • Scholarship Coverage:
  • Settlement allowance : Rp. 1,000,000.00
  • Living Allowance : Rp. 1,650,000.00
  • Research and book allowances (will be given during the Master Program) : Rp. 750,000.00
  • Health insurance
  • Round trip international ticket

V. How to apply

A. General Requirements

  1. Maximum of age is 35 years old;
  2. Posses a bachelor degree or equivalent;
  3. Have a TOEFL score of 450 or equivalent;
  4. Submit completed the on-line application form; and
  5. Must be nominated by the Indonesian Embassy in the respective country;

B. Required Documents

  1. A nomination Letter from the Indonesian Embassy;
  2. A nomination letter from the respective government official;
  3. 2 (two) Academic Recommendation Letters;
  4. A scanned passport or birth certificate;
  5. A scanned bachelor certificate and academic transcript (in English) ;
  6. A scanned TOEFL score certificate obtained within the last 2 Years;
  7. A scanned Medical Statement;
  8. Photograph.

C. Procedure

1. Bring the Passport or birth certificate, Academic certificate and Academic transcript to the Indonesian Embassy to acquire the nomination letter; for those who live in Mongolia and out of Beijing please send the softcopy of the document to email: This email address is being protected from spambots. 2. Complete the online application process ((please visit www.knb.dikti.go.id)

VI. Important Dates

  1. The application process will be commenced in January and must be completed not later than 31st March;
  2. The selection process will be conducted in April;
  3. The selection result will be announced in May;
  4. The students will be expected to depart to Indonesia by the end of August;
  5. The Orientation and Indonesian language course will start in early September.
